Join us @ Stand For Standing Rock in Berkeley!
BREAKING NEWS: We just heard confirmation from elders at base camp that drilling is continuing. They are moving forward anyhow and just taking the fine. Now is the time to keep our prayer strong, and to continue our support in our fight for clean water, protection of our land, and discontinuing the funding of ALL pipelines.
Yesterday we were all thrilled to hear the following announcement from the Army Corp of Engineers late Sunday, December 4: “The Department of the Army will not approve an easement that would allow the proposed Dakota Access Pipeline to cross under Lake Oahe in North Dakota, the Army’s Assistant Secretary for Civil Works announced today.” Alternate routes for the DAPL crossing will be explored.- and This is NOT acceotable. Yes we are one step in the right direction however, we will not stop advocating until all pipelines are discontinued. Rerouting is NOT acceptable. There are still jailed Water Protectors and other legal issues to be addressed, as well as expenses still outstanding for the winterizing of the camp (such as yurts, etc).
Join us at MeloMelo Kava Bar where we will gather in prayer, music and story as we stand in solidarity for Standing Rock. All money collected for kava, and kombucha purchases will be donated to winterizing camps at Standing rock.
We will gather at 7pm. At 7:30pm we will begin with an opening invocation and Kava Ceremony followed by music, story, counsel, and medicine theatre.
