What a whirlwind of emotion these past few days. Thank G-d for prayer, yoga and all of you who have checked in with me.

I put everything into these past 4 months. I worked every single day doing my best to raise funding for my new album. Big thank you to the 151 friends, family and fans who made pledges to support the creation of my dream project.

We didn’t reach our goal, however we did reach over 9K in donations. I’m grateful to all who helped along the way sharing my posts and videos.

I’m not giving up. I have so many new songs to share, so I created a new Indiegogo campaign offering 6 tiers of product depending on how much of a budget we raise. The first tier is for a 5 Song EP, Design, Printing, Merchandising, 1 Music Video and 1 Month PR Campaign for $12,000.

This is a flexible campaign meaning I receive anything you pledge but I cant put out a quality product until I reach the minimum goal of 12K.

If you have donated, please re-donate to my new campaign and as a community lets birth these brand new songs into reality.

Thank you for believing in this project!

My New KickStarter Campaign Is Live!!!!!
Posted // January 19th, 2017

Today is an exciting day!!!! These past few months I have been working diligently with my team to prepare the launch for my my band new KickStarter Campaign. We are raising $30,000 for the creation of my NEW FULL LENGTH ALBUM!!!!!!! I completed a collection of 10 powerful medicine songs based on my own healing, Jewish mystical stories, and spiritual experience. Every song on this album is a prayer. These songs give the listener the ability to transform obstacles into gifts. By contributing to my KickStarter you will be joining a movement where we value the power of prayer and intention as being just as powerful as any form of activism. Our prayer IS front line work.

I have a request of all you today:

BREAKING NEWS: We just heard confirmation from elders at base camp that drilling is continuing. They are moving forward anyhow and just taking the fine. Now is the time to keep our prayer strong, and to continue our support in our fight for clean water, protection of our land, and discontinuing the funding of ALL pipelines.

Yesterday we were all thrilled to hear the following announcement from the Army Corp of Engineers late Sunday, December 4: “The Department of the Army will not approve an easement that would allow the proposed Dakota Access Pipeline to cross under Lake Oahe in North Dakota, the Army’s Assistant Secretary for Civil Works announced today.” Alternate routes for the DAPL crossing will be explored.- and This is NOT acceotable. Yes we are one step in the right direction however, we will not stop advocating until all pipelines are discontinued. Rerouting is NOT acceptable. There are still jailed Water Protectors and other legal issues to be addressed, as well as expenses still outstanding for the winterizing of the camp (such as yurts, etc).

Join us at MeloMelo Kava Bar where we will gather in prayer, music and story as we stand in solidarity for Standing Rock. All money collected for kava, and kombucha purchases will be donated to winterizing camps at Standing rock.

We will gather at 7pm. At 7:30pm we will begin with an opening invocation and Kava Ceremony followed by music, story, counsel, and medicine theatre.

Awake! Arise! The time is now to protect our water! Water is life!

“Hitor’ri hitor’ri ki va orech,
kumi ori,
uri uri shir dabeiri
k’vd adonai alayich niglah”

Awake, awake your light has come! Arise, shine , awake and sing;
the Eternal’s Glory dawns upon you.

These poetic words composed by Rabbi Shlomo Halevi Alkabetz, a verse in the poetic song Lecha Dodi, rings in my head as a wake up call. Our brothers and sisters at Sacred Stone Camp in Standing Rock are on the front lines standing up for all people so that we will have clean water for all generations to come. The 280 indigenous tribes have gathered from all over the world to stop the DAPL which threatens to contaminate clean drinking water for the Standing Rock Sioux. This is a historic moment in time. However as a country and a people were are persuaded by what the corporations and the media are feeding us. Our focus has been this presidential election. Neither presidential candidates have spoken at all about The Dakota Access Pipeline in the 3 presidential debates. Why not? Perhaps they are funding the building of the pipeline? It is our time to wake up and to stand together advocating, educating and praying for the protection of our sacred land and water. The people who are on the land are peaceful protectors of water not violent protestors. However we are being pushed back and assaulted by the use of tanks, rubber bullets, hate speech, pepper spray, tasers and you name it. Yesterday I was informed that a sweet lodge was violently ripped apart by law enforcement as ceremony was happening inside, and all were taken into custody. Peaceful protectors are praying on the land with cedar and sage and law enforcement are confiscating our sacred herbs in the face of peaceful prayer. Now we are not able to pray on our land? This has gone too far.

I have been able to tour our world inspiring communities to connect with Spirit in authentic and embodied ways. I have met tens of thousands who are now integrating spiritually embodied daily practices into their daily lives. Why is this happening? From what I have seen from performing at transformational music festivals many have learned these practices because of the ceremony brought by the Lakota and other indigenous tribes. For the people who have yet to experience these transformational gatherings we are inspired by the music we listen to. For almost the past decade I have been visiting Jewish communities working with all generations, and denominations to help connect each individual with Creator through music. Now touring to festivals and communities where all faiths gather my network of musicians and collaborators has significantly grown. It’s time for us to raise our voices and to share our prayers so that we can advocate for the safety and protection of our sacred land and waters.

On this Shabbos I am inviting you all to share a prayer for the protection of our peaceful protectors at Standing Rock and for the protection of our sacred land and water. Arise! Wake up family! Let’s gather in prayer and bless up those who need our support. Spirit has our back!

I am considering holding Shabbos prayer at Standing Rock in the next couple of weeks and if you are interested lets gather and welcome in the divine goddess at Sacred Stone Camp! Lets gather on the land and pray as one people.

Chant 4 Change Was Inspiring!
Posted // October 18th, 2016

On October 8th I was invited to share my music on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial at “Chant 4 Change,” an event celebrating the unification of all people through sacred chant. When I received the booking inquiry from my team, I really didn’t know what to think. The Lincoln Memorial is a huge location and to think I would be able to sing for over 10,000 souls from all faiths just didn’t really make sense to me.  Then a few days before the event I received a message from Chant 4 Change that the Dalai Lama himself wrote a letter officially thanking all the artists and volunteers for participating in this event.  At that moment I knew that we were making history.

I arrived at the Lincoln memorial on October 8th (one month before election day), with my parents and we were greeted and guided to the green room. In the distance I heard one of the most beautiful voices. I quickly walked over to the stage which was placed right on the lower steps of the memorial where hundreds of people were chanting and singing along with Ajeet Kaur. Her voice and music brought me to a space of total bliss. I was also able to catch performances by Fanna Fi Allah (a sufi chanting collective) who I also saw perform at Bhakti Fest this year. The Juggernauts set featuring Guara Vani and Visvambhar brought thousands of people to their feet with collective chant and dance. I was invited to share my music right after their set.

I walked up on the stage grounded down and looked out at thousands of people. I was facing towards the Reflection Pond and the Washington Memorial. I was joined during my set by my friend Benjy Wertheimer on esraj and tabla. Benjy is the founder of a sacred chant band called Shantala and also performs with Krishna Das, Jai Uttal and other kirtan artists.  Both Keshia Halev Fife and Dana Benderson joined me on vocals.  I opened with the “Bal Shem Tov Niggun,” calling in the spirit of a Rabbi who could hear the song of the birds and sing the songs of the birds.  The BESHT could hear the songs of the waters and yes, sing the songs of the waters.  I guided everyone with hebrew chanting songs, some original acoustic songs and an english chant cover by Ben Lee. During the last song I disconnected from the PA and joined the thousands who were singing with me down on the steps below.  We were all praying together using our voices as the tools to break us free from the fear and judgment. The human way is to live in the mind.  However group chant allows us to travel from the place of the mind to the place of the heart.  Did you know Hamakom is one of the names of spirit?  Hamakom… (The Place) where all judgement seems to fade and we become ONE voice, ONE being, ONE heart.

After our set i was able to witness “Prayerformances” by Sweet Honey In The Rock, Radhanath Swami, Tina Malia, The Kirtan Rabbi, Mc Yogi and David Newman all artists that have mastered their craft.  Every single offering at Chant 4 Change was deeply moving and empowering.  To even think that I would be considered let alone included in this cohort of change makers was humbling and a highlight of my lifetime.
